elfh e-Learning
We are delighted to have successfully upgraded our DotNet SCORM LMS to include an extra plugin for AICC protocol e-learning, which is currently being used in the Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Training Interface website to remotely access elfh e-learning courses.
This is hugely significant for our NHS Staff Portals as it will allow elfh e-learning courses to be seamlessly incorporated and assigned to competences.
Elfh is an NHS funded organisation that provides e-learning courses to the NHS. Currently they have over 6,000 AICC e-learning courses available, which include packages for the NHS National Mandatory Competences.
The technical way this works is as follows:-
- The IP address used by our NHS Client Portal Website is white listed with elfh.
- Elfh AICC e-learning courses are registered in the Portal Website database and assigned to appropriate competences.
- When staff access their competences they can launch the elfh e-learning course assigned to the competence.
- The e-learning course is effectively played through on elfh’s website in a new browser window.
- Using the AICC protocol the users progress on the course is written back to the Portal Website Database as well as being used on re-launching to go back to the latest point of progress.
- From the user’s perspective the whole process is seamless and works just like they were accessing a locally hosted SCORM e-learning course.
All NHS organisational are entitled to use elfh AICC e-learning.
In supporting Innevate to develop the AICC Plugin Leeds Teaching Hospitals have recognised the huge potential using remote elfh e-learning in the Training Interface has to drive up their staff mandatory training compliance and to support their Local Compulsory competences!
Our NHS Staff Portal now has the potential to fully faciltate an organisations mandatory staff training using the national mandatory e-learning courses elfh provides. Elfh courses can also be used for an organisations local competences, which potentially offers a big saving on time and expense.
