We have extensive experience in developing staff portals for a range of requirements. Underpinning all our staff portals is a best practice approach to all elements, that include database design, solution programming, security, maintenance, support, and hosting.

Importantly having worked with countless NHS professionals we have a deep understanding of how staff related areas of training, reviews, declarations, and more works. Combing this practical understanding with our technical knowledge allows us to design solutions for the most complex of requirements.

Our staff portals benefit from using Microsoft’s latest DotNet Core Platform incorporating Microsoft Identity. This enables all aspects of logging in to be handled securely, with Two Factor Authentication available as an option. The assignment of custom roles to users controls what they can see and do.

During the past decade we have acquired our own DotNet SCORM and AICC Learning Management System through working with a number of specialists Worldwide. We can seamlessly integrate our LMS into any staff portal solution to facilitate on-line training using e-learning.

Our AICC LMS plugin will allow any NHS organisation to access, free of charge, over 6,000 elfh e-learning courses and assign them to their staff competences. This represents a fantastic opportunity that can be seemlessy leveraged.

We also have our own bespoke software for importing and exporting data to and from the National NHS ESR Database that stores NHS employees training competences.

Our staff portals for Leeds Teaching Hospitals and City Health Care Providers have become a central hub for staff to access their ESR mandatory training, none ESR additional training, and their annual reviews. This is achieved in a fully customised way to suite both organisations. This has had a big impact on staff productivity in carrying out their training and reviews.

In addition to our solutions using a customised Staff Portal they also include an Admin Portal that allows organisation administrators full access to manage all areas and view detailed reports and KPI charts. Administrators access is controlled by role assignments, which are managed by a few senior administrators.

All solution contain a highly efficient Support Ticket system with the facility for organisation administrators to escalate tickets to Innevate.

In these current times security and data protection has become very important, especially in the NHS. Our staff portals are built from the ground up to be exceptionally secure and consquently have experienced no data breaches.

The built-in security features summarised below are standard to all our customer solutions:-

Hosting is carried out on the World leading Microsoft Azure platform via their UK Data Centres.
Hosting benefits from Azure's advanced firewall and security monitoring systems.
Hosting benefits from Azure's schedled backup services.
The resources used by solutions are monitored by Innevate and can be scaled up or down to meet demand, ensuring 100% uptime and excellent technical performance. This is particulaly useful in the 3 month Appraisal Season when user activity is at its highest.
Solutions are additional backed up privately on GitHub.
Solutions are upgraded periodically to use the latest fully supported version of DotNet Core.
Solutions Nuget packages and third party scripts are periodically updated to the latest versions.
Solutions will pass the most stringent stress testing.
Solution databases use stored procedures exclusively for all data CRUD (create, read, update, and delete) operations, which makes the database SQL injection proof.
Solution database stored procedures use try catch blocks to roll back failed execution and capture errors. Errors are inserted in to a Log that Innevate monitor and use to erradicate any bugs that arise.
Access to all private webpages, i.e. the staff and admin portals, are strictly controlled by user role assignments.
Logging in to the portals is handled by the Microsoft Identity System with two factor authentication available as an option. 2FA is recommended for Admin Portal logins.
No passwords are stored in the database and users have to set their own strong password.
Failed login attempts are restricted to 6 or less per day. Exceeding the allowance causes the user account to be deactivated for that day.
Administrator role assignments control precisely what individual administrators can see and do. Maintaining and controlling this properly enhances security.

Whilst our NHS Portal Websites cover all requirements fully and to a very high standard they can be easily modified to accommodate changes as well as incorporating new staff system. Combining this with Microsoft Azure facility to upgrade the code base to the latest version of DotNet as well as scaling solution hosting resources our Staff Portal Solutions are effectively future-proof and can adapt and grow as required.
