NHS ESR Database
Our NHS Staff Portals are ESR centric! This works by importing data on a regular basis from ESR and subsequently exporting data back into ESR for completed staff competences.
The status of staff training profiles therefore reflects and agrees with what is stored in ESR. Another way of looking at this is that it doesn't matter whether staff complete their competences through the Staff Portal, through their MyESR Portal, or through a face to face course that gets updated in ESR. The end result is the same, i.e. the status of staff competences as shown in the Staff Portal is up to date. This why our NHS Staff Portals are ESR centric.
All our software, programming, and techniques for integrating with ESR have been thoroughly tested over a long period of time.
Experience has shown that by giving staff the option to conveniently see and carry out their training in one of our Staff Portals they will choose to complete their training here rather than elsewhere. This is why our NHS Staff Portals are proven to drive up staff training compliance and work with and not against any other means of carrying out the same training.
We have our own bespoke software for the importing and exporting data to and from the National NHS ESR Database, which has been working reliably for the 25,000 staff that use Leeds Teaching Hospitals Training Interface for over a decade.
The process involves:-
- Automatically exporting staff competences from ESR into a staging table in the Training Interface Database.
- Automatically analysing the imported data to update the main tables in the Training Interface Database.
- Staff complete e-learning and other learning tasks associated with their assigned competences.
- When the required learning tasks for a staff competence are completed their competence is updated to completed.
- Completed staff competences are exported daily in to a CSV file that is used by our specialist data loading software to update the corresponding records in ESR.
